HIPAA Compliance

     Hippa refers to Medical Privacy and the National Standards to Protect the Privacy of Personal Health Information. Doulas are not currently required to conform to HIPAA guidelines, however Community Doulas is committed to working with professional caregivers to protect patient/client privacy. We have multiple encryption programs for our website referrals and have had both our online and internal processes evaluated and approved by our HIPAA Compliance Officer, as well as, a web designer familiar with web-based HIPAA approved systems.

    Your health information submitted online is stored on our secure server until it is downloaded on a daily basis to our Doula Co-ordinator. The content is then removed online and a hard copy printed for our files. If you have any questions about your privacy please contact us!
